Your Best Behavior

It’s the day of the event and you’ve just realized there are numerous breakdowns in your event coordination.  What are you to do?
Most people don’t realize giving in to stress prevents them from responding logically and tapping into their problem solving techniques. First, try to eliminate the stressful situation. There is always a solution to every challenge. The most efficient method of course is enrolling the assistance of others who are qualified. Always look toward your attendees who might be repeat clients. They often have insights that escape the event planners and are typically eager to be of assistance.
Think carefully about how you typically respond to stress. I often find I work very well under stress. I revert to logic and fundamental solution orientated processes. I try to think about how many solutions there might be. I think of the most extreme solution and then list in order the least extreme and weight the consequences of each solution.
Obviously when you take action, the stress of the situation is minimized because you are in motion. Initiate the proper steps to create a smooth resolution to your stress.

Creating Long Term Results from Your Events

It’s not likely that any audience will be drastically changed in one hour, one day or from any one presentation will change your audience long-term. But how can you ensure that your audience will be impacted from the program you have worked so hard to produce?

One of the biggest responses from audiences when asked what would make events more memorable and giving the ability to make positive changes they learned at an event was to take home the books, CD’s, DVD’s, Software, workbooks and adding coaching programs to their routine.

The challenge is that most event planners focus intently on creating the perfect event, but rarely do they have the opportunity to consider the long term effect they might have if they were only to consider what might make their program have a last effect.

Often speakers will dig deep to offer a discount on their products to make them available for the entire audience. This is one of the most often used practices. It is also possible to print custom orders of products so your audience will acknowledge your thoughtfulness.
